Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Director: Fans Crave a Robust Experience Over DLC
“That’s the reason we’ve chosen not to allocate resources towards developing DLC at this time.”
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth may not be receiving any significant story-driven DLC.
This is according to Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth director Naoki Hamaguchi, who informed the Daily Star that although he understands the fan community desires something akin to Episode Intermission, the team’s concentration is instead on Part 3 in order to release it “as quickly as feasible.”
“We truly do acknowledge the interest from fans, the calls from those wanting that kind of content,” Hamaguchi recognized during the interview.
“I completely agree, but I believe that from my perspective, what fans should prioritize is not necessarily DLC. They should want the third installment of the series as soon as possible.
“That’s the reason we’ve opted not to direct our development efforts towards producing any more episodes for DLC at this time,” Hamaguchi remarked.
“We are genuinely dedicating all our resources to releasing the third game as promptly as we can. So for now, that is where our focus lies.”
Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth director Naoki Hamaguchi has also recently stated he intentionally designed the game’s conclusion to spark discussion and keep players guessing until the trilogy’s eventual end.
