Update[Sun Twenty-fourth Nov 2024, 1:35pm]: Although Toree Saturn was initially planned for release this year on the Switch, developer Siactro has revealed that the launch has been postponed until early 2025. The development team feels that the quality “would have suffered significantly” had the game been released next month. Here is the full message:

“I regret to inform you that I must delay Toree Saturn to early 2025. A December release was feasible, but the quality would have suffered greatly. I collaborated with some truly amazing individuals on this project, and I will not undermine their efforts with a subpar release. I am truly sorry!”

As soon as we have an updated release date, we’ll be sure to share it!


Background Note: A fresh trailer and a PC demo for the upcoming release of Toree Saturn have been unveiled, with developer Siactro also reaffirming that the new title is set to launch at some point in 2024. This latest update indicates a Nintendo Switch release as well.

When this new project was first announced last September, there had been no prior Nintendo announcement, so good luck with that!

Here’s a brief overview of what to expect from the latest installment in this speed-focused 3D platformer series (via Steam):

“Dash through linear levels from point A to B using a double-jumping bird while evading foes, collecting stars (if desired), and gaining various speed boosts along the way.”

– Toree has two new abilities! Players can now perform a ground dash while airborne to fall faster and gain a speed boost upon landing, as well as home in on special stars to receive a height and mobility enhancement.​​

– Fresh Visuals! Toree Saturn’s art style combines elements of charming 90s 3D with some of the wilder aesthetics from the early Y2K era. It seems to be a natural progression from the art style of previous games… at least I hope so.​​

– Controlling Toree is now much simpler!​
No more need for a Drag-Button, meaning players no longer have to hold down the trigger for extended periods.​
Most actions (except for the trigger for ground crawl) now only require the Jump button.​
