RollerCoaster Tycoon Traditional Makes Its Debut on Swap!
RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic is set to launch on Switch at the start of next month.
As revealed by Atari, the theme park simulator will debut on December 5th, with the Switch version joining its counterparts available on mobile and PC.
This re-release combines the original RollerCoaster Tycoon with its sequel, featuring enhanced user interface and controls.
These two titles are often regarded as the best in the series, and while they may show their age, their straightforwardness is endearing in comparison to more modern simulation games.
Indeed, it’s notable timing from Atari, particularly following the launch of Frontier’s Planet Coaster 2, a game that includes significantly more advanced features.
Atari serves as the exclusive publisher of the RollerCoaster Tycoon series, having acquired the rights to the third title from Frontier earlier this year. Atari’s CEO, Wade Rosen, stated that this move would create “new possibilities for Atari” and “advantages for fans of the RollerCoaster Tycoon franchise.”
This Switch version of RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic (not the third title) is the most significant announcement so far, leaving uncertainty about the future of the rest of the series.
Additionally, Parkitect is also available.
