2K declares it remains “dedicated” to the game and its development team
Reports indicate that 2K has dismissed 31st Union president, Michael Condrey.
Kotaku states that Condrey – a co-founder of Sledgehammer Games and who joined 2K in 2019 – was reportedly let go on February 3 due to concerns that its long-anticipated online multiplayer game, Project Ethos, wasn’t generating enough interest.
In spite of this, 2K affirmed its “strong commitment” to both Project Ethos and 31st Union, thanking Condrey for his “dedication, passion, and work ethic”.
Condrey will “transition” his role to focus on advising the future of Project Ethos. It remains uncertain who will take over his position at the studio, either temporarily or permanently.
“We are thankful to Michael Condrey for the dedication, passion, and work ethic he displayed in assembling an incredible team and shaping the vision of 31st Union,” a representative from 2K commented to Kotaku via email.
“Michael will be transitioning his role in the immediate future to concentrate on advising regarding the future of Project Ethos. We are very committed to the ongoing development of Project Ethos and to the people and culture of the 31st Union studio.”
